Queer Aesthetics In the heart of Ermoupolis commercial life
For those who were not there, it might be hard to imagine that the events of Hermaphrodite Pre-Festival took place in Greece.
This year’s events of Eye’s Walk Digital Festival were a step towards a meeting with gender identities for the local community, the visitors and the audience of the festival in public space. Various events took place in several parts of the city:
In the heart of its commercial life, around the Apollo Theater.
Seven [7] shop windows were filled with Queer aesthetics, questions, thoughts and feelings as well as archive material about the LGBTQI community in socialist era Romania. Activists and artists from Ireland, Greece and Romania joined. The merchants of Ermoupolis, replaced Hermes the God of Commerce with Hermes the Scholar and actively supported the actions of the Eye’s Walk Digital festival towards an open society.
